Klipsch K-horn
I finally got lucky and found a set of corner horns locally for a decent price. These are so efficient I can drive them with the monitor amp in the C32. Although they sound great, I am planning on implementing the Crites upgrade soon!

Ohm Walsh F5 Series 3
These were the top of the line models from Ohm Acoustics until Jan 8, 2009, when Ohm announced their release of their next generation of the Walsh driver, the 5000. I already owned a pair of Ohm Pro 200 Sound Cylinders, and was in the market for another pair of speakers. I auditioned many, including buying a pair of Maggies, but I wasn't satisfied until I got the F5's. It is hard to find a single soul that has something negative to say about that beautiful Ohm magic!

Ohm Walsh Pro 200 Sound Cylinder
I bought these used when I accidentally stumbled upon them returning a botched buy from one of those quick-sell online auction franchises. They had just come in, and the guy didn't want to worry about shipping them so we dealed then and there. Went there mad as a hatter, left there grinnin' ear to ear. I always loved the Ohm's (heard at a show) and was very eager to try them out. They needed some minor repair (terminals, one of the driver supports was damaged) but John Strohbeen, president, took care of me personally. They played an important role in my decision to buy the F5's (I loved them that much.)

Magnepan MG-Ic
I was looking for another set of speakers, and had also heard plenty of raves about Magnepans, so when I came across these for sale locally I jumped on it. I got them for a steal, and all that was wrong was both tweeter fuses were blown. These were the third and last run at the MG-I model. They can be bi-amped, but I am currently driving them with my Carver M-1.5t (which has plenty of power.) These are outstanding speakers, but require EXACT positioning (both the speakers, and the listener.)

Avid Model 101
These were bought slightly used around 1978. They were run with the C32's low-power monitor outputs originally. They are wonderful speakers, and I was extremely impressed with the low bass despite the small 8" woofer. I think the weight, and the extra tweeters mounted on the sides of the cabinets also help with the sound these speakers produce. The woofers, despite being manufactured in '76, are still in great shape and are in no need of refoaming!

Realistic Optimus T200
These were bought new in the very early '80s with my JVC A-X4 (not at the same place, however.) I was a frequenter of my local Radio Shack and got to know one of the sales guys really well. I was looking for a pair of speakers to match my JVC and he suggested these. I got a decent amount off of sticker, IIRC, and was happy. They were power hungry (two ten inch woofers) and did not last long (foam fell apart, midranges disintegrated, and tweeters failed all before 1990.) They did sound great though and the cabinets and original drivers are still in my basement!

University L-T-D ~1962
These were bought from an estate sale, where the sellers had absolutely no information about them. From posts to groups I have been able to determine that University made high quality drivers and were bought out by L-T-D, who made Jet engines and also bought out a couple of other famous names and then discontinued them. They seem to be extremely rare, have a two-way 5" midrange and tweeter, and a separate 6" woofer. They still sound good for their age, and the C32 drives them as monitors.

Acoustic Monitor dbx-IV (White Van)
You know the story, a guy pulls up in a white van selling NIB speakers too good to be true. I was managing the business they pulled into in the late '80s and they were attempting to sell my employees as many as they could. I told him to give me a pair or I was calling the cops. Needless to say, I have a pair. I find them very, um, interesting...
