Mistubishi DP-EC1
This was bought new along with the Avids, C32 and MR78. Fantastic turntable, and a little on the rare side. It has a semi-gloss laquer finish on a heavy base. The turntable platter has optical coutouts so the turntable can determine album diameter, and a strobe to keep speed. The original headshell became misplaced several years ago so I have a Technics that I robbed from another turntable. It currently alternate between a Shure V15 Type III and an Audio-Technica AT155LC cartridge.

Technics SL-J3
I bought this new from a J&R Music World catalog ad in the back of an audio magazine in the early '80s. I liked the programmable aspect, and the T4P P-Mount cartridge was new technology. It is direct drive, linear tracking, and programmable (it can actually scan the album, determine the breaks in the songs, and play similarly to a CD.) It is the size of an album cover, and is very portable. It currently has a Stanton stylus and cartridge.

Gray Research HF-5
Huge, heavy (solid iron platter) turntable that handles 16" albums at 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM through the use of adapters that attach to the drive shaft and contact the edge of the platter. The ON/OFF switch controls the power to the platter, as well as moves the drive shaft away from the platter so you can change the speed adapter. Gray Research is an American audio manufacturer from the golden age of hi-fi that produced equipment for professional and home audiophiles. Their most innovative product was this viscous damped model 108 transcription tonearm [14 5/8" overall length] which is the father of all unipivots and probably the most stable of all designs since it is supported by a ball and socket that floats on thick silicon oil. Many radio station consoles used these during the mono era. It has a Fairchild 220A cartridge and stylus. I use this in my mono system.
